Make a favicon for a blog

What is Favicon? Favicon is a small image in address bar. See the sample below.

It looks nice, doesn't it. To make a favicon and then place a favicon in an address bar is simple. Follow my tips below. The tips are divided into three parts.

1. How to upload an image for favicon

First thing to do is to prepare an image or log with gif, jpg or png foramt. Then, the image or logo is converted into a favicon.ico so that it can be used as favicon. Below is how to convert into favicon

• Click http://www.favicon.cc/?action=import_request
  
• Click browse and find an image or logo that will be converted.
  

• After getting an image or logo, click Upload (see pic. above) and wait for a few second.

• If the conversion is finished, download the image (see the sample below)

• Below is the result of conversion. The image is small and ready to be placed in address bar.

Ok. You already have an image with favicon.ico format. Now you have to save that image in file storage, such as geocities.com.

2. How to upload an image in geocities

• Click here to go to geocities site. You just Sign in with your Yahoo ID.
• After signing in, you will see picture below. Click Manage.
  

• Click Easy Upload

• Click Browse to upload the converted image or logo and click Uplaoad files.
  

• Click File Manager
  

• (see picture below) In View, click right mouse and choose Copy. Then choose Copy Link Location and save in notepad or microsoft word. Remember, you must choose a file of favicon.ico
  

• The file result is as seen below.

Until this step, you have an address of your favicon.ico. Next change the code above into the code below.

3. Add the favicon code into your blog.

• Log in into blogger
• Click Layouts ini menu dashboard
• Click Edit HTML
• Find this codei </head>
• Place the code below right under </head>

• Change the red code with your code.
  

• Click Save Template see te result
